Since 1978, Animal Welfare Assistance Group has been keeping Monterey County residents and their pets together. We strive to keep pets out of shelters and rescues and to help their owners keep them in their loving homes. Some of the services we provide are:
- Loans or grants to economically disadvantaged and responsible pet guardians for veterinary care.
- Low cost or free spay and neuter for economically disadvantaged pet guardians.
- Pet food and supplies for financially disadvantaged seniors, disabled veterans, owners of service dogs and others
- Information on responsible pet care and resources available in Monterey County.
- Free microchips to area shelters for cats and dogs that have been lost and are reclaimed by their guardians.
